Welcome - Message from the President

Dear Students:

Welcome to Harford Community College! Since 1957, HCC has been providing a world-class, affordable education to the people of Harford County. We serve students from a variety of backgrounds: high school students getting a head start on college coursework, established professionals looking to make a career change or upgrade skills, retirees taking a class for fun, and everyone in between. Our goal for each and every student is to provide the tools, knowledge, and skills needed to grow and achieve personally and professionally.

We offer more than 140+ affordable degree, certificate, and career and workforce programs to more than 6,300 full- and part-time students, as well as community education courses to more than 6,300 full- and part-time students a year. We are also proud of our 2+2 partnership with Towson University’s Northeast Maryland Extension (TUNE) offering students the flexibility to pursue a four-degree after completing and associate degree. HCC has also developed a number of articulation agreements with four-year colleges and other higher education institutions, including Goucher College, Stevenson University online, University of Baltimore, and University of Maryland Baltimore County to allow students to transfer seamlessly to area colleges and universities.

Additionally, we are also pleased to offer career and workforce programs both on campus and in Edgewood at Harford's Leading Edge Training Center Powered by the Ratcliffe Foundation,  and at the Edgewood Branch of the Harford County Public Library. Courses in construction, trades, logistics, emergency medical services, computer, and IT training continue to meet the needs of those wanting to earn valuable industry certifications and find employment in high-demand fields.

We maintain a working partnership with local employers in both the public and private sectors to develop job training courses that equip workers with the skills they need to be successful in today’s marketplace, and offer noncredit courses for anyone interested in pursuing lifelong learning and personal enrichment.

The faculty and staff at Harford Community College are invested in your success. I invite you to reach out to one of our advisors for assistance on getting started with your academic journey. So many of us who work and study at HCC consider this campus our home; if you are not already a part of the HCC family, we hope you will consider joining us.

Sincerely,

Theresa B. Felder, EdD
