Program Description
This program examines the complex network of activities that make up Supply Chain Management (SCM), including transportation, inventory control, warehousing, international logistics, and SCM performance metrics and optimization techniques. Upon successful completion of the program, students will have a strong background in SCM principles and applications, as well as a strong general education experience.
Program Goals
Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Assess the dynamics of the supply chain in the global marketplace.
- Describe the nature of supply chain workflows and processes.
- Identify the concepts of supply chain logistics in business practices.
- Evaluate the impact of international business and other emerging issues on the global supply chain.
- Analyze the various functional areas of the supply chain process.
- Analyze the use and importance of information technology systems in each of the functional areas of the supply chain process.
Employment Information
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that employment of logisticians to grow 28 percent from 2021 to 2031.
Diversity Requirement
To satisfy the diversity requirement: Associate degree students must complete one 3-credit diversity course (D). It is recommended that students select one of the 3-credit (GB), (GAH), (GI) course electives from those that also appear on the approved list of diversity course graduation requirements.
