Program Description
This program provides students with core competencies in operations management and supply chain logistics. Students will gain an understanding of the role of supply chain logistics in the global marketplace, as well as emerging trends in supply chain management information systems, organization, and inventory management. Specific competencies gained through this program will include supply chain performance measurement, demand management, transportation, inventory management, global logistics, and financial supply chain management.
Program Goals
- Evaluate the impact of international business and other emerging issues on the global supply chain.
- Identify the concepts of supply chain logistics in business practices.
- Analyze the various functional areas of the supply chain process.
- Analyze the use and importance of information technology systems in each of the functional areas of the supply chain.
Employment Information
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that employment of logisticians to grow 28 percent from 2021 to 2031.
Certificate Requirements
In order to earn a certificate from Harford Community College, students must demonstrate basic competencies in English, reading, and mathematics by completing: ENG 018 Integrated Reading and Writing, MATH 020 Pre-Algebra I, and/or a qualifying exam must be passed.
