DRAM 203  Survey of World Drama (GAH)  (3 credits)  
This course is a cultural and critical study of the development of drama throughout civilizations prior to the 20th century. Students explore a broad range of dramatic works from around the world, including Ancient Athens, Renaissance England, Neoclassical Europe, Medieval Japan, classical India and China, and pre-Colonial Africa and Latin America, exploring dialogue, staging, cultural values, trends in the performing arts, alongside literary and theatrical symbols and themes. Usually offered in the fall semester.
DRAM 204  Survey of Modern Drama (GAH)  (3 credits)  
This course is a chronological and critical study of the development of drama from modernism to the present. Students explore a broad range of dramatic works from around the world, exploring dialogue, staging, cultural values, and trends in the performing arts, alongside literary and theatrical symbols and themes. Usually offered in the spring semester.
